The Kittitas Environmental Education Network (KEEN) invites you to the 11th annual KEEN Winter Fair; a free event for the whole family. It takes place Saturday, January 25th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Hal Holmes Center at the Ellensburg Public Library.

Get Intimate with the Shrub-Steppe (GISS) is a day packed full of expert-led field trips, educational and hands-on science booths with great activities for kids. Bird whispering, snake-sneaking, geology, fish & bugs and more! 

KEENs Green Drinks

Green Drinks is a fun, social get together of like-minded folks who gather to talk about sustainability issues, events and happenings in our region, ideas for new ways to engage, and build our network.

Join us at the pub by Ironhorse on Main Street in Ellensburg. We start at 5:30 on Fourth Fridays in the backroom.

Yakima River Canyon Bird Fest

Come bird with KEEN for 3-days during the second weekend of May and discover the natural beauty of Central Washington State! Kittitas County features diverse and spectacular habitats ranging from snow-capped mountains, thousands of acres of public forest, lush riparian corridors and endangered shrub-steppe open space. The Yakima River Canyon is an Audubon Important Bird Area (IBA) with some of the highest densities of passerines and birds of prey in the State, some of them obligates to the shrub-steppe habitat.
