KEEN's 1st Annual Rattlesnake Fun Run

Helen McCabe Park, at the entrance to the Yakima River Canyon, is the future home of the Yakima Canyon Interpretive Center. The Rattlesnake Run course will circumnavigate the fishing pond, take you through a restoration area along Wilson Creek, where thousands of native plants and trees were planted in 2010, then through the shade of a mature Ponderosa Pine forest. Refreshments, beer tastings, and prizes at the finish line!
While there are very few snakes in the park, there will be a few fake snakes to keep you on your toes! Snatch a snake (rubber only) during the run, and trade it in for a prize at the finish line! In typical KEEN fashion, there will be an educational aspect too! Learn about the park, native plants, and the future visitor center while you run. There will also be a prize for whoever can answer the most questions at the end.
