The unbelievably popular outdoor pre-school operated by the Washington Outdoor School at Helen McCabe Park
Spring 2018 program starts in January!

Register your child for 1/2 day pre-school available Fridays from 9:00-12:00 at
Helen McCabe Park in partnership
with the Washington Outdoor School and teacher Sibyl Maer-Fillo.

 

There are 15 spaces on each day open for the Spring Term.

 

Cost is $220 Friday class.  
This comes to $20/day for each class.
Friday class starts March 31 through June 9

This exciting opportunity is open to children who are ready for pre-school and who are potty trained or on their way to being potty trained - usually between the ages of 2&1/2 to 5.

This is an 'all outdoor' preschool with limited shelter at the parks; children need to be prepared to be outside
all day in all kinds of weather.

Washington Outdoor School's approach to outdoor education is child-interest led with an emphasis on experiencing each day in the moment, noticing changes and building on previous experiences. The natural world offers up our curriculum for the day.  Washington Outdoor School is about exploration, play and experiencing what the world has to offer so as to cultivate an attitude of joy and wonder within each child.  Natural experiences might be infused with a relevant book or song or time spent learning about the things the children find interesting over a period of time...but whatever we explore has to be of interest to the children and organic to their experience.  Our goal is for kids to love being outside and feel inspired to explore as they move through the space.
