The Best Crafted Cider & Music meet to celebrate the colors of fall in the center of Washington

Ciderhouses from Puget Sound,  Wenatchee, Yakima and around the region will bring enough varieties to make the most experienced taster swoon.  Five live bands (plus a bonus VIP Band!) from Bluegrass to Folk to Americana, will own the outdoor stage. Come to Western Town at the Kittitas Valley Event Center, Ellensburg, WA.  Gather with your friends on October 2, 2021. Taps are open from 3 pm to 9 pm. WindFall is an event for ages 21 and up. ID will be required.

Biggest Gathering of Cider in Central Washington

We're hoping for 12 cider houses to pour, and each cider house will bring two or three varieties for your pleasure. From dry to sweet to hopped to fruited, herbed or flowered, there's a cider for everyone. Local restaurants and concessions will offer plentiful handy food for every taste.  Beer, wine and soft drinks will also be available. Music-only tickets are also available for designated drivers!

Five Live Bands, powered by Chinook Entertainment

Our partners and friends at Chinook Entertainment are putting together a fantastic line up! WindFall is fortunate to work with veteran music festival producers and add the Chinook experience to the event. "Where Great Music Meets the Great Outdoors" is Chinook's's the lineup!

Hardwood Heart

Hardwood Heart was born out of compulsion - a desire for guitarist Josh Clinger and mandolin player Jed Nussbaum to keep as musically active and exploratory as possible. What started as two songwriters swapping tunes in backyards and living rooms turned into an impressive catalog of original material and covers, woven together with creative improvisation and vocal harmonies. Together they paired up with bassist Caleb Mattis and forged a sound rooted in bluegrass but stretching into jazz, folk, blues and rock and roll. The trio used the slowdown in 2020 to focus on expanding their repertoire and record their first two EPs, showcasing the band’s intimate lyrics and tasteful instrumentation, and released their third EP, Walls & Picture Frames in June 2021.

Warren G Hardings

Seattle-based band The Warren G. Hardings hearken back to their forefathers with a unique brand of uptempo bluegrass. With “strong originals and stellar musicianship” according to Country Standard Time, the G’s have rewritten the rules of stringband music charging headlong into progressive sounds. Playing handmade traditional bluegrass infused with infectious influences of Pop and Americana, they entertain with high-energy tunes you can’t help but dance to.

Massy Ferguson

For more than a dozen years, Massy Ferguson have proudly planted their boots on both sides of the country-rock divide, carving out their own brand of amplified Americana along the way. Based in Seattle, they've become international torchbearers of a sound that's distinctly American, with a touring history that spans nine different countries. On their fifth album, Great Divides, they double down on their rock & roll roots, mixing bar-band twang with raw, guitar-driven bang. Gluing those sounds together is the songwriting partnership of bass-playing frontman Ethan Anderson and guitarist Adam Monda, whose songs spin stories of small-town adolescence, big-city adulthood, and the long miles of highway that stretch between.

McKay & Leigh

Texas cultivated, Nashville based songwriting team Brennen Leigh and Noel McKay met in 2002 through Austin,Texas's vibrant music scene. McKay was part of the regionally popular country and Tex-Mex band McKay Brothers, while the bluegrass and classic country educated Leigh had just arrived in Texas to pursue a solo career. Six years later the two began writing and touring together, somehow fitting in writing trips to Nashville between tour dates. At first, they often wrote songs on long car trips, one of them behind the wheel of their then touring vehicle, a 1992 Honda Accord wagon. The result was a mix of story songs that continue to delight in a concert setting. The duo’s Gurf Morlix produced debut album Before the World Was Made (2013) is a cult classic; CMA Close Up called it “hilarious, sentimental and profound, usually all at the same time.”

Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley

Take a 15-time IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Dobro Player of the Year and a Tennessee-born guitar prodigy who made his Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 11, and you have Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley, a powerhouse acoustic duo that has electrified the acoustic music scene. On their new Compass Records album, WORLD FULL OF BLUES, they move beyond the acoustic-centric sound of their previous two releases (including the GRAMMY-nominated BEFORE THE SUN GOES DOWN) and juice things up with Hammond B3 and a horn section. Guests include blues great Taj Mahal, who provides his unmistakable mojo to the title track, and country music legend Vince Gill, who joins the duo on an inspired rendition of The Grateful Dead’s moonshiner song, “Brown-Eyed Women”. White-hot picking and stone country vocals are still the driving force of the duo, but now with added grit and a nod to the rootsier side of Americana, all aided by the guiding hand of GRAMMY winning producer Brent Maher.  Maher, known for his production and engineering of such diverse artists as The Judds, Faces, and Ike and Tina Turner, loved the duo’s demos and signed on to produce immediately upon hearing them.  The album was recorded live at Maher’s Nashville studio, The Blueroom, with minimal overdubs. Maher says, “For me, this record was all about living in the moment…letting spontaneity rule.” Despite the diversity in instrumentation and song selection—acoustic blues to jammed out roots rockers, “Hag” country to Duane and Dickey style twin leads reminiscent of The Allman Brothers—the end result is a sound unified in its approach to the broad scope of roots music.  “Ultimately we’re the unifying factor,” says Ickes (rhymes with ‘bikes’.) “It’s obvious we’re into all these different styles, but there’s a commonality in the sound of our instruments that, blended with Trey’s voice, makes it one sound.”

Bonus VIP & After Party Band

VIP Ticket holders, cider house staff, and event volunteers will get a bonus band during the after party! Home-town natives, Wavesons are a quintet alt-rock band formed in 2019 in Ellensburg. They play original songs with a variety of inspirations, from jazz, to rock, to folk, to classical.
